Podcast - A show that is broadcast over the web and is broken up into parts or episodes.
Podcast means Ipod + broadcasting that belongs to a digital broadcasting technology realized with a portable player named “iPodder” in the early stage. That Podcasting records are web broadcast or internet audio programs allowed to be downloaded by netizen into portable players such as iPod, MP3 to listen everywhere rather than being restricted of listening them on computer in real time. More significant is that you can make your own audio program to upload and share with all.
The difference between podcast and other audio content is in its subscription model. Podcast uses the RSS file format to transfer information. Subscribing podcast program can use corresponding podcast software which check and download new content at regular intervals. Now podcast does not limited to play on iPod or iTunes, any digital audio player or appropriate software on computer can play podcasts.
